Lecture Phase is coming to an end

Hello Family and Friends>>>

I just got back from our mid-term outreach in Argao.

It was intense and very fun.

The Schedule in Argao was very busy.

We had ministry from 6am to 11pm

This schedule contained a lot of character building, and as a team we learned a lot.

Our ministry consisted of:

House to house evangelism-

We would perform skits, share testimonies, share about Jesus, play action songs, and ask people if they would like to except Jesus. Goodness describes it all

Open air evangelism-

During house to house evangelism we would ask people to attend our little concert type of thing. The invitation was open to the whole barangay (city) and we would dance, act, and share the love of Jesus.

Bible study-

Around 7 pm we meet with youth, adults, and church attendees to just share and fellowship

We would basically repeat this schedule daily.

God was really revealing his father heart and faithfulness to us on this trip.

And it was great spending Christmas as a servant to others.

Time is winding down... Soon i'll be leaving for China.

On January 12th we'll be going to Manila to help at The Father's House orphanage for a week.

On January 25th we'll be flying from Manila to Hong Kong..

Please pray for our outreach

Pray that we will be a blessing to others

Also pray for Peter in my group. His passport isn't processed yet and your prayers would help out a lot.

Pray for love, transparency, and humility in our group

Love you all

Check out the new pictures I posted to the right of this page titled Argao outreach and argao continued...

Miss you all

Have a Happy New Year!!!

Whats up Family?1?

Our silly YWAM dances
To the left, to the right, now slide!

This week the topic was on deliverance and inner healing..

Lets just say I have never experienced anything like this before..

At home I believed in evil spirits and demons.. but that was just knowledge.. I actually saw evil spirits and demons getting casted out of people..

The most intense spirit was the spirit of Witchcraft..

It was crazy!!

The demon would fight so hard and basically take over the person's body.

I never knew that ugly things like this existed in people.

It was pretty scary!

But when Jesus was in our presence everything is fine.

Its amazing to see how much peace the Holy Spirit brings after the demons are casted out.

I learned that every sin you commit has a corresponding spirit.

And when you make certain decisions in your life you could be welcoming evil spirits into your body.

Spirits could enter in through family iniquity, vulnerability, and through various types of sins.

Yeah so that's about it!
Love you all
Miss you all
Thank you for all the support!
In two weeks Im going to Argao, Cebu for a mid-term outreach
On January 12th im going to Manila and then flying to China a week later : ) Yay!
Pray for me...!

180 degrees

This week the lecture was on repentance and a clear conscience. I learned that true repentance is a decision that meets grace and compassion. And when we repent we are coming home to God. Once we repent, we need to turn 180 degrees from our past and fix our gaze on Jesus Christ. The thing I had trouble with in understanding repentance was that fact that it is a decision not a feeling.

Its all about the heart!

My greatest longing is to be real and transparent with God and others.

The cross is simple:
Believe it
Receive it
Teach it

I learned that God uses people in the area of their brokenness.

I want to be radical in my relationship with Jesus

If we have a relationship with God we need to believe that:
We are all created in Gods image
We are all fearfully and wonderfully made
Christ lives in us

Miss you all
Love you all
Thank you for all the support
all the prayers
Can't wait to see you all again
God bless!

Brothers and Sisters whats up!

Last week the teaching was on spiritual warfare and intercessory prayer.
I realized that there are two deep needs in our lives:
Security and adventure; these needs will be fulfilled if you seek a relationship with God.

Our greatest weapon is our mouth

Adam and Eve were placed in the Garden of Eden. Once Adam and Eve sinned we lost that garden. Jesus died for us so we could have communion with God.
Each of us have a garden.
The garden is where we have sweet fellowship with God and a place where man seeks counsel from God on how to rule the earth. In the first testament Jesus is our garden.
Right now I'm trying to cultivate my garden and develop a strong relationship with God.

The Lord owns the earth, but God gave us authority.

There are three main things on raising up men and women of prayer:
We must continually increase our understanding on, who God is, who Man is, and the world around us.

Families are supposed to be main gates where God can reveal his plans and purpose for the earth.
A family is also supposed to be a safe place where the enemy cannot attack.

We always try to find a solution to our problems. The solution is Jesus.

This week was a lecture on Inductive bible study. We studied Philemon, Titus, and Acts. Through these three books I really saw what forgiveness, character, and courage is all about. In the book of Philemon I learned a lot about Gods total forgiveness. Paul was willing to take all the blame for Onesimus. I encourage everybody to read this book, its really short but you learn a lot about Paul's example of Love.

Through this lecture I was really encouraged to pursue another Ywam class. The class is called SBS- School of Biblical Studies. Its a 9 month course and it is credited in the University of the Nations. However, I have a lot of things going through my mind about the future. I just gave all my concerns to God.

Im doing well out here and God is doing a lot of healing and character building in my life. Discipline is great!

For my major outreach Im am planning on going to China. And I need all your prayers! : )

Tomorrow, I am going to church and supposedly there is going to be a late Thanksgiving dinner.
Nagkalami ang pagKaon! This is some of my skills in cebuano and what I said is that the food is going to be delicious.

I miss everyone!
I love you all
Everyone take care

ALL THE FUN!!

I have all my pictures posted!!! They're all posted because I actually had time to sit on the computer and wait for the pictures to load.

God is good!

Everyone is a child of God and as a Father he wants to lavish his Love on you.

So Jesus Loves all of you just in case you didn't know

Chris Kurtz Loves all of you too

So yeah today I did my journal, hand washed my clothes, took a nap, played basketball and tried to evangelize to little kids passing by. They would shout "DUNK!" to me so I would and before I did I would say this is because of Jesus. Then the little kids would say wow and I would say yeah you can do anything through Christ who strengthens you. I also kept repeating the fact that Jesus loves them. Once they left they were saying Jesus loves me. So hopefully I did something good in their lives even though I'm no Michael Jordan.
Tomorrow I'm going to church and after church we usually hang out at the mall and buy stuff. So we'll see whats up tomorrow. On Monday we have a lecture on Spiritual Warfare and Intercessory prayer. I heard that this teacher is boring and the class itself is a spiritual warfare, but by the grace of God he'll provide the coffee and the strength to learn.

Well take care everybody
Talk to you soon
Just an FYI the pictures are to the right under YWAM Pictures lol : )

Outreach update

I loaded pictures on my facebook from Calbayog.

To the right of this window click facebook and you'll see all the fun pictures.

Calbayog was great! We visited Buhang and Gandara.

A lot of people never heard the good news of Jesus Christ.

So we shared it with them.

God was really working in these cities using us as instruments to make him known.

A lot of people also needed prayer for healing because the spirit of sickness is really strong there.

I had a lot of fun and I can't wait to do more outreach!

Check out the pictures!

Love you all

Ive been here for a month!

So... I just wanted to let everyone at home know that I miss you very much.. Danny, Daniel, and Lauren, I'm proud of you and I'm excited about what the Lord is doing in your life. The past three weeks I had lectures on Worship, The Character of God, and the Father Heart of God. I've learned so much about these topics. Worship is a lifestyle and it is your relationship with God. The Father Heart of God is unbelievable. Its hard to realize how much God loves you. I learned that you don't have to earn God's love. Its done, he loves you. Now you have to love others through a Godly perspective. You can love someone and not like them. You ultimately have to believe and have faith. Once you have that faith you need to believe that God can speak to you through visions, dreams, and through his auditory voice. If he does speak to you then you must obey. Forgiveness was a huge topic too. First, you have to forgive yourself and accept the person that God made. Realizing that you are nothing, and you are no better than anyone else. There are a lot of things that I learned but these are the main things that I can think of. If you have questions then just email me: kurtz12@gmail.com : )

There are two outreaches: One team is going to Dumaguete and one team is going to Samar, Calbayog

I'm going to Samar Calbayog on November 2nd to the 8th
I'm going with a group 7, traveling by boat. It should be an interesting 12 hour trip : )

Here is a letter that Ate Tin-Tin created for everyone to view:

SAMAR TEAM NEWSLETTER
Samar is an island in the Visayas, which is in the central Philippines. It is the country’s third largest island. Samar is frequently visited by typhoons since it’s near the Pacific ocean. The island is predominantly of the Roman Catholic faith.
The “waray” speaking people has been stereotyped as fierce and provoking. The “waray-waray”, (a tribal group) of which they are called is located in the economically deprived area of the Philippines. They are mainly fishermen and subsistence farmers.
Our team of seven (7) is going on an outreach to Calbayog on November 2-8. We will be supporting the work of YWAM- Calbayog. The team will be doing children’s ministry, strengthening churches (preaching, bible study and etc.), open air evangelism and the work in Buhang. “Buhang” is a village 30 minutes away by tricycle from Calbayog.
The team is seeing that there are new waves of opportunities that will be springing out from this work. Our team are mainly young people, who are burning with passion to reach out their dying generation for Jesus. The works in Calbayog is mostly ministry to the young generation and we are just excited of what God will reveal and do through us during this time of outreach.
Matt 24:14
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” (NIV)
PRAYER POINTS:
~protection and good weather condition as we will be traveling by boat to Samar.
~wisdom, discernment and unity in the team who will be ministering.
~good health and favor upon this time of ministry work.
~open doors of opportunity and networks in Calbayog and Buhang.
~prayer partners and financial supporters, as we will be raising Php2,000($45/person) with a total of Php14,000($318).
~for God’s power to be revealed into hearts of whom we will be ministering.

Unfortunately

My laptop cannot connect to the Internet.. So I am using the base computer for the internet.. I cannot post any pictures of the Jeepneys and the tricycles. I will be sure to post the pictures as soon as possible, once my laptop can connect.

Today was the first day of class. It was basically an introduction to YWAM and we got a little taste of evangelism. My schedule is pretty busy considering the fact that I have to hand wash my clothes and I have work duties, I mop the floors and sweep after lunch. Everyone here except for me speaks either Cebuano or Tagalog. I am the only person that speaks fluent English and its a challenge for me and im going to have to get used to it. Im starting to make friends with the fellow DTS students and we bond when we play basketball.

Im really realizing how blessed I am at home.

I love you all and when I can connect my laptop I will post more

Check it out

::>I realized that Danny and Tree created a blogger, so I decided to as well. Usually I would be the second person to create one but Tree beat me to it. So yeah Danny is in New Zealand and "That's nuts," as Danny would say. I feel like I'm going to see him tomorrow, but NOPE. I guess it hasn't hit me yet. Considering, I am leaving in like 23 days. On September 27th... you can say peace to Chris Kurtz. I'm really excited for Danny, Tree, and Lauren. I just don't know what to expect. The cool thing about not knowing is the fact that I have never done something without having expectations<::

The only thing I can predict is work at domino's five days a week. Hey its a pretty good job, and I would recommend it to everyone. Unless you're scared to get chased by dogs or something. (Go cry about it) But yeah I deliver pizza's and if I close I get a free pizza, its sweet. Don't forget about tips.... "Answer the door its Domino's"

::> So yeah I'll keep posting... but most likely I won't post consistently until I'm in the Philippines<::

Love you all
